Lowell Warshawsky

Lowell Warshawsky was born in New York in 1952. He grew up in the city and attended New York Community College, where he studied commercial and studio tectonics. Next he went to Kingsbow Community College to pursue an interest in African Art. Finally, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pratt Institute with a B.F.A. in painting. He is a member of the Brooklyn Artists' Association.

A rapidly maturing young artist, Lowell Warshawsky had to choose between a teaching career and becoming a professional painter. In spite of the risks inherent in such a choice, he chose to paint, and embarked on a course to success. In 1979 he was one of only twenty-five artists chosen to exhibit in the Brooklyn Museum Show, an honor which helped launch his career.
